Children's Programs

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers have the opportunity to earn a bundle of books when they have read (been read to) 1,000 books.  When your child has completed the program contact Miss Emily at Each child that completes the program will be awarded with 10 books and a certificate. You can track your books by title if you would like, but can use a sticker system, etc. as well. 

Play Areas

Our library has various play areas for children of all ages that can be utilized during library hours. Our toys include a kitchen, Lego table, train table, dolls, action figures, a dollhouse, dress-up, blocks, trucks, puppets, puzzles, board games, coloring, and much more.


All toys must be picked up after you are done playing with them and everything must be put away 15 minutes before closing. 

Story Times and Open Play Time

Story time will run January 6th-February 12th. There will be no story time on Monday, January 20th.

Below is a breakdown of the 3 story times we offer. We are flexible about the age ranges assigned to each group. Siblings, cousins, and friends are also always welcome to join in the fun.  

Babies (ages 0-2): Wednesdays at 10:30 AM

Toddlers (ages 2-3): Mondays at 10:30 AM

Preschoolers (ages 3-6): Tuesdays at 1:30 PM

Movers and Shakers

Our movement and music program meets every Thursday at 10:30 AM in the community room. 


This program is great for infants through 6 years of age. A structured music class with parachute, stretchy band, scarves, dances, and instruments takes place through 11 AM, followed by a half hour of free play with toys that develop gross motor skills and musical appreciation including bubbles, tunnels, stretchy bands, ride-ons, instruments, balls, and much more. 

Lunar New Year Celebration

Nintendo Club

January 24, 2020

Select Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00 PM in the community room. This program is for kids, tweens, and teens.

Special Olympics Young Athletes

January 31, 2020

Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID), ages 2 to 7 years old. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. 

Meets in the community room the last Friday of each month at 3:30 PM.

Lego Club

February 06, 2020

Free play with our large Lego collection the 1st Thursday of every month from 3:00- 4:30 PM in the story time room. We have both small and large Legos suitable for toddlers and older. 


February 10, 2020

Teams compete to answer trivia questions in categories such as pop culture, math, spelling, history, science, and reading. We typically meet in the  story time room the 2nd Monday of every month at 3:00 PM. This program is suitable for elementary aged children. 

Number Crunchers

February 12, 2020

Every second Wednesday of the month, join us in the story time room for math games and activities from 3:00-4:30 PM. Attendees of this program are typically in preschool and elementary school. 

Valentine's Day Craft

Dinosaur Tea Party

February 14, 2020

A dinosaur themed tea party with stories, snacks, and crafts in the community room at 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3 PM.

Every 3rd Thursday of each month do a STEM based activity or experiment and play with selections of our STEM toys from 3:00-4:30 PM in the story time room. Toddlers and up are encouraged to attend. 

St. Patrick's Day Craft

Earth Day Planting
